An unbroken record,
start to finish.
Chain of custody is the documented story of who held your consignment and when, with no unexplained gaps from collection to delivery.
What chain of custody means
Chain of custody is a continuous, recorded account of who has had control of a consignment at every stage of its journey. Each transfer of responsibility is captured, so at any point you can say exactly who was holding the goods and at what time.
The key word is unbroken. A record with a missing link, a stretch where nobody can account for the item, undermines the whole thing. The strength of a chain of custody lies in there being no gaps for doubt to creep into.
Why one driver and no depots matters
Every additional handover is another place a record can break. When a consignment passes through a sorting hub and several pairs of hands, the chain becomes a list of scans rather than a clear account of responsibility.
A dedicated run keeps custody simple. With REMUX Transport one driver collects your consignment and carries it directly to its destination, with no depots and no co-loading in between. Responsibility stays with one person for the whole journey, which is exactly what a clean chain of custody needs.
Where it really counts
Some work cannot proceed without this discipline. Legal documents and exhibits, court bundles, medical samples and sensitive materials all carry consequences if their handling cannot be accounted for, and a broken chain can put the value of the item itself in question.
If your consignment depends on a demonstrable record of custody, it is worth flagging when you book, whether the job is a legal courier run or a healthcare delivery. Say so at the outset and the handling is planned around that need, with proof captured along the way.
