Multi-drop delivery
explained.
When you've got several deliveries going to several places, one planned route is usually the smart way to do it.
What multi-drop means
A multi-drop run carries several consignments and delivers them across a sequence of stops on one planned route, in the most efficient order. It's how stock gets distributed to a string of stores, how a region's deliveries are covered in a day, and how returns are collected on the way back.
Each stop is proven with proof of delivery, so you have a record of every drop.
When it saves money
If you've got multiple deliveries in the same direction or region, paying for one sequenced route is far cheaper than booking several separate dedicated runs. The more drops that fit a sensible route, the better the value per delivery.
It's a favourite for retail and e-commerce distribution, store transfers and scheduled account work.
Multi-drop vs a single dedicated run
A single dedicated run is point-to-point: one collection, one delivery, fastest possible. Multi-drop trades a little speed per item for much better value across many items. Pick dedicated when one thing has to be there now; pick multi-drop when several things need to go out efficiently.
