Fragile goods,
fewer hands.
Delicate items survive the journey when the route is gentle and the packaging is honest, and a dedicated run gives you far more control over both.
Fewer hands, no sorting
Most damage to fragile goods happens not on the open road but in the handling, the repeated loading, sorting and reloading of a parcel network where an item passes through many hands and onto conveyor after conveyor. Each transfer is another chance for a knock, a drop or a heavy box landing on top.
A dedicated direct run changes that. Your item is collected, travels on one vehicle and is delivered by the same driver, with no depot and no sortation in between. Fewer hands and no carousel mean far fewer opportunities for harm, which is often the single biggest factor in fragile goods arriving intact.
Pack for the journey, not the shelf
Good handling still relies on good packaging. Fragile items want enough cushioning on every side that they cannot touch the walls of the box or each other, with the void filled so nothing rattles around. The outer carton should be sturdy and sized to the contents rather than far larger and half empty.
Think about how the item will sit and move. Heavier pieces are kept from pressing on lighter ones, glass and ceramics are wrapped individually, and anything that must stay upright is packed and marked accordingly. Packaging that would survive a tumble is packaging that will comfortably survive a careful direct run.
Flag fragility when you book
Telling us an item is fragile is not stating the obvious, it changes how the job is handled. With that flag, the load is positioned so nothing stacks on it, secured so it cannot shift, and treated with the extra care it needs from collection to door, rather than being loaded like any other parcel.
It also helps the right vehicle and approach be matched to the goods. For especially delicate or high-value items where a second pair of hands helps, our two-man delivery guide explains when that is worth booking alongside the run.
Confidence to the door
Throughout the journey, live tracking shows where your goods are, and photo proof of delivery records their condition at the moment they are handed over. Fragile work is priced per job and on the route, with a fixed quote before the driver sets off, so the care you are paying for is clear from the outset.
